About Columbia Country Club:

Ellis Maples, a protégé of famed designer Donald Ross, designed the golf course. It is rated among the top 25 in the state of South Carolina - an impressive ranking considering the world-class reputation of many courses along the coast.
Columbia Country Club opened for golf at its current location in December of 1962. In 1999, the Club underwent a million dollar plus renovation. This project, completed in 2001, brought all 27 holes up to current USGA tournament standards. The new greens are now planted in Tif-Eagle Bermuda grass. The more than 90 bunkers on the course were rebuilt for better drainage and all teeing areas were leveled and rebuilt as well. The result is a beautiful and challenging golf course, suitable not only for top tournaments, but for the recreational golfer as well.
Year after year, Columbia Country Club ranks as one of the best courses in the state. For historical rankings click here. We host amateur and professional tournaments every year. Some of the nation's and state's best golfers have come to respect Columbia as a great venue for professional & amateur tournaments.
