About The Patriot:
The Patriot was born from the land. The 2-year development created tough challenges for the finest golf construction company, Landscapes Unlimited. They traversed four often hostile topographies – lowland marsh, heavy woodlands, high prairie, and limestone canyons. The rock-laden terrain required importing 10-inches of sandy-loam top soil. Irrigation literally carved into the land through limestone.
Eventually, 80 acres of sod enlivened the enormous Meyer Zoysia fairways. With no rough, the fairways flow like harbor, providing safe havens from nature’s fury. The tees and greens lay gently atop organic contours. Fanatical in our commitment to beautiful greens, we selected A1-A4 Bent, a sub-terrain moisture control system and turf breeze fans. Brilliant, beach-white sand bunkers dot The Patriot, providing a striking contrast to lush green zoysia.
