About Turnberry Country Club:

In 1972, Arthur T. McIntosh envisioned a family-oriented private country club community in Lakewood, Illinois; 60 miles northwest of Chicago and just outside Crystal Lake. Today, Turnberry Country Club boasts a 30,000 sq. ft. French Normandy style clubhouse, a renovated 3900 sq. ft. banquet room and four tennis courts.
The crown jewel of Turnberry is the E. Lawrence Packard-designed par 72 golf course. At 6,852 yards from the championship tees, Turnberry has hosted a U.S. Open Qualifier and was also the site of the Illinois Open. The course, with multiple tees, allows golfers of all abilities to have a rewarding experience. The driving range, with a 23,000 sq. ft. blue grass hitting area was enhanced in 2001 with the addition of three target greens and sand traps. There is also a 10,000 sq. ft. putting green for practicing those forever challenging puts. Turnberry is spread over 166 acres, best known for its fast greens. The course also offers mildly rolling fairways, challenging shot making as well as some tricky pin placements. Any golfer who loves golf will enjoy their round at Turnberry Country Club.
