About Boaz Golf Club:

This old country course has been around a long time, according to the woman running the clubhouse. Digging around on the Internet shows the course was built in the late 1940s, and that qualifies for a long time in my book. Its a fun track, with narrow fairways and tiny greens that place an emphasis on hitting the ball straight and controlling your distance. The course is pretty short, although tees have been added to stretch the course to 6,509 yards. The 10th is a good par-4 (409 yards). A creek crosses the fairway and trees to the right make the tee shot feel a little uncomfortable. The par-3 12th hole is easily the best maintained hole on the course. We were told the regulars take extra good care of the hole, and they like to gather in the evening for drinks and a pizza. The closing hole provides a good deal of the length on this course. According to the card, the par-5 18th stretches to 570 yards.
